Privacy and Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
This site shares a personal experience with hidradenitis suppurativa and collects as little data as possible. Here is, in plain language, what is processed, why, and what your rights are.
Data controller
The data controller for this site is Luca Vizzielli. For any request about your data, write to [email protected].
What we process and why
1. Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) with IP anonymization to understand which content is read, and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) to measure the effectiveness of content promotion. These tools use the cookies described below. Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR). The data is aggregated: we do not use these statistics to identify you.
2. Contact form
If you use the contact form, we process what you write (name, email, message) for the sole purpose of replying. Delivery is handled by Web3Forms. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR). Please do not include health information in the form.
3. Book purchase
The eBook is sold through Payhip (Payhip Ltd, UK), an external platform with its own privacy policy; payments are processed by Stripe. We receive the data needed to deliver your purchase and meet tax obligations (email, order details). Legal basis: performance of a contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR) and legal obligations (art. 6.1.c). Buying the book does not subscribe you to any newsletter.
Cookies
- Technical cookies, required for the site to work (no consent needed);
- Measurement cookies from Google Analytics 4 (e.g.
_ga); - Marketing cookies from the Meta Pixel (e.g.
_fbp).
You can manage or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. Google offers an Analytics opt-out add-on, and Meta ad preferences can be managed from your ad settings.
Where the data goes
The providers above may transfer data outside the European Union (notably to the United States and the United Kingdom), based on adequacy decisions of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Retention
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle the request, then archived in our mailbox;
- Purchase data: for the periods required by tax obligations;
- GA4 statistics: 14 months.
Your rights
Under articles 15-22 GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and withdraw consent at any time: just email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
